Why we exist

Our objective

The objective of the foundation is to support and improve the quality of life of underprivileged communities in Africa.

Article 2 of the articles of association

The articles name five ways in which the foundation pursues that objective. Every project we carry out falls under one of these five.

Education

Building and renovating schools, providing teaching materials and improving access to good education.

Social support

Cultural activities, sport and workshops that make people stronger and bring them together.

Water

Water wells, filters and pipes, so that communities have clean drinking water close to home.

Food

Food parcels and support for small-scale farming, with attention to self-sufficiency.

Health

Care centres, medical supplies and aids for those who need them most.

Our policy

Policy in outline

Below are the main points of the foundation’s policy plan: how we choose projects, how we work, where the money comes from and where it goes. Since 2022 we have worked with a regular local partner in Uganda, and that partnership shapes how we choose, carry out and account for projects.

How we choose projects

Every project starts with research on site, together with our local partner. We look at what a community itself says it needs and what will keep working after we leave.

How we work

Every project gets a plan with goals, a budget and a timeline. We follow the work on site and record it in receipts, photos and agreements.

Where the money comes from

The foundation is funded by gifts from individuals and companies. Travel costs are budgeted in advance and raised separately, so that other gifts go to the projects themselves.

Where the money goes

The foundation holds no more assets than it needs to cover current obligations. What comes in is spent on the objective; you can read this back per year in the annual accounts.

Who decides

Board and remuneration policy

The board

  • Kerim OrazChair

Founder of the foundation. Responsible for the projects and the cooperation with the permanent partner in Uganda.

  • Berkay CandemirSecretary

Responsible for the meetings, the minutes and the archive of the foundation.

  • Boy van der ZwetTreasurer

Responsible for checking the financial administration and adopting the annual documents.

Remuneration policy

Board members receive no remuneration for their work. They are only entitled to reimbursement of costs they incur in their role. The foundation has no employees and works entirely with volunteers.

What we did

Report of activities

An overview per year. The foundation was set up on 28 July 2023; what was done before that falls in the run-up period and is listed separately. The full description per project, with amounts and explanation, is in the annual reports on the transparency page.

  1. 2022

First trip and food parcels (before the foundation was set up)

In the run-up period, before the foundation was formally set up: the first trip to Kampala, during which 100 food parcels were put together at local markets with the later regular partner and handed out to families in Lweza and Bombo.

  2. 2023

Founding and the Muchanga water well

The foundation is set up (28 July 2023). Muchanga gets a water well that gives more than 3,000 people clean drinking water; in the autumn wheelchairs and nutritious porridge for children follow, through the regular partner.

  3. 2024

    Project Jinja and on-site check

A one-off collaboration with a local organisation in Jinja: a production line for nutritious porridge, a plot of land with storage space and a two-day children’s festival for about one hundred children. The 2023 water well proves to be in use every day.

  4. 2025

    Rest year

    No projects carried out.

  5. 2026

    Rest year and restart

2026 is also a deliberate rest year without a project trip. Meanwhile the board is working on the restart of the foundation: a renewed website and full publication of the annual documents for 2023 to 2025.

The figures

Financial accountability

The amounts below come from the adopted annual accounts. In 2024, € 11,591 was spent directly on the objective. 2025 was a deliberate rest year without a project trip.
